The Motor Industry Software Reliability Association (MISRA) released the Second Revision of the Third Edition of its C language guidelines for critical systems, titled MISRA C: 2023. This latest edition is a comprehensive rollup of Amendments 2-4 (AMD2, AMD3, AMD4) and Technical Corrigendum 2 (TC2) from MISRA C: 2012.

MISRA C: 2023 significantly extends its scope by incorporating support for C11 and C18 language standards. This revision introduces numerous new rules and directives designed to provide thorough guidance for developing safety-critical and high-reliability C code.

PC-lint Plus 2.0 offers extensive MISRA C: 2012 coverage, including Amendments 1 and 2. The upcoming PC-lint Plus 2.1 release aims to broaden this coverage further, aligning with the advancements in MISRA C: 2023.
